More than tutoring.
A plan for growth.

We build a clear picture of how your child learns, then shape every session around the teaching, challenge and support they need to thrive.

Our promise

We teach the whole child,
not just the subject.

Why Whole Child Tutoring?

Because knowing the answer is only one part of learning.

A child can understand the concept and still struggle to begin. They can have the ability and still believe they are “bad at maths.” They can make progress in a lesson but find it difficult to transfer that learning back into the classroom.

We look at academic skills alongside confidence, attention, motivation, learning habits and emotional safety—because every child can thrive when we understand how they learn, not just what they know.

Your child’s Learning Profile

We don’t fit your child into tutoring.
We shape tutoring around your child.

Every child brings a different combination of strengths, needs, interests and ways of approaching learning. We take the time to understand that combination, so support is designed for the child in front of us—not an imaginary “average” learner.

01

How they learn

The approaches, explanations and experiences that help new ideas click.

02

What helps—or gets in the way

Patterns in confidence, attention, motivation, regulation and challenge.

03

What they need next

The right academic priorities, level of challenge and teaching strategies for meaningful progress.

Their Learning Profile becomes the foundation for their goals, lesson design and ongoing Growth Cycle.

The Whole Child Tutors difference

Nothing generic.
Nothing left to chance.

Personalisation means more than choosing a worksheet at the right year level. It means understanding your child, designing learning with care and making sure every session contributes to meaningful progress at school.

01

No generic worksheets

We begin with your child’s Learning Profile—not a pre-packaged program or a stack of identical worksheets.

02

Carefully crafted learning

Every explanation, activity, level of challenge and next step is deliberately tailored to your child.

03

Connected to school

We link learning back to the Australian Curriculum so concepts click in tutoring and progress carries into the classroom, assessments and grades.

04

Everything is tracked

We record what was taught, how your child responded, the evidence of growth and what needs to happen next.

05

Parents stay closely informed

Frequent, meaningful communication helps you understand your child’s learning, progress and changing needs—not simply whether they completed the worksheet.

Personalised learning support

Start with what your child needs now.

The WCT Growth Cycle

Progress you can see.
Support that keeps evolving.

Tutoring is ongoing, but it is never open-ended or directionless. Every eight weeks, we pause, review what has changed and set the right priorities for the next stage.

01

Onboard

We get to know your child, your family’s goals and what has brought you to tutoring.

02

Assess

Your tutor builds connection, finds a quick learning win and identifies your child’s starting point.

03

Design

We create a focused learning plan with two to four meaningful goals and the right teaching strategies.

04

Develop

Weekly sessions build knowledge, confidence and independence while progress is carefully tracked.

05

Achieve

We review the evidence, celebrate growth and show you clearly what has changed.

06

Advance

Together, we decide what your child needs next so learning never stands still.

Learning beyond the desk

For some children, learning needs to move.

Our 90-minute Maths Learning Labs take concepts into the playground through movement, real-world problem-solving and interest-led play. They are designed for children who find it hard to focus at a desk, connect with abstract ideas or apply what they know.

About Katie Bennett

Education, coaching and strategy—brought together for children.

I’m Katie: founder of Whole Child Tutors, primary educator, certified brain-based coach and mum of three. I created WCT to give families the kind of support I believe children deserve—personal, intelligent and grounded in who they are.

Before education, I completed a distinction degree in Finance and Economics and worked in investment banking, asset management and consulting. That background shaped the way I approach learning: understand the problem clearly, find the pattern and build a plan that works in real life.

Today, I combine my Master of Teaching studies at Monash, classroom experience, coaching training and professional development in neurodiversity, behaviour support and child development to oversee every WCT student’s learning journey.
