Education is about more than improving marks. It’s about helping children become confident, capable learners for life.
At Whole Child Tutors, we believe every child deserves to feel understood, supported and capable. While academic success matters, we know that confidence, motivation, emotional wellbeing and a genuine love of learning are just as important. That's why our approach goes beyond worksheets and homework to focus on the whole child.
Founded by teacher, Katie Bennett, Whole Child Tutors combines evidence-based teaching with a deep understanding of child development, learning differences and the realities of today's classrooms. Whether a child needs support to catch up, extension to stay challenged, or guidance to rebuild confidence after a difficult experience at school, we meet them where they are and help them move forward. Our goal is simple: to provide personalised learning experiences that build understanding, confidence and independence, helping every child thrive both in school and beyond.

Meet Katie, Founder of Whole Child Tutors
Whole Child Tutors was founded by qualified teacher Katie Bennett with a simple belief: every child can thrive when we understand how they learn—not just what they know. As Founder and Learning Success Manager, Katie personally oversees every student's learning journey. Rather than matching families with the next available tutor, she carefully pairs each child with the educator who best suits their personality, learning profile and goals.
Katie's background combines classroom teaching, educational research and years of working with children and families. She has undertaken extensive professional learning in areas including neurodiversity, behaviour, learning differences and evidence-informed teaching practices, with a particular passion for helping children rebuild confidence alongside academic success.
Outside the classroom, Katie is also a mother of three young children. That lived experience has deepened her understanding that education is never just about grades. It's about confidence, curiosity, emotional wellbeing and helping children develop the skills to become capable, independent learners. It has also given her a firsthand appreciation of the trust parents place in those who support their children—something she never takes for granted.
While your child will work directly with one of our carefully selected tutors, Katie remains closely involved throughout the entire journey—reviewing assessments, monitoring progress, refining learning plans, supporting tutors and communicating with families to ensure every child continues moving forward. Because great tutoring isn't just about one lesson each week.
It's about having someone who understands the bigger picture of your child's learning and partners with your family every step of the way.
